What is PLR?

PLR is the abbreviation of Private Label Rights. These are rights assigned by an original creator to a piece of content that is then sold to other content creators who change it in some way and add their brand before selling it to end users.

Why do content creators purchase pre-made content with Private Label Rights?

Just like we cannot do every step in creating our food or building our house, it is difficult for content creators to do everything themselves. By purchasing PLR, they not only get products that they can adapt for their audience, they also find new ideas and ways of presenting information.

The PLR that they purchase may include templates, written content, reports, video, sound files, or graphics. A.B. Sue’s PLR creates a number of different kinds of PLR content for other creators to use. Download these ten free Christmassy backgrounds and think about how you might be able to use them! For example, teachers could use them to create Christmas themed exercise sheets. Or, families could use them for Christmas letters to include with their Christmas cards. Alternatively, content creators might create Christmas party games. The possibilities are endless, and we’d love to hear how you have put them to use!

How do content creators adapt Private Label Rights content?

If a content creator purchases a PLR planner, for example, they may change the cover, the fonts, the graphics, or some of the blocks for notes, meal planning, next steps, etc. They might also add motivational quotes to pages. Video and sound files may be edited or remixed. Reports might be used to inspire the outline of a longer book. PLR provides the starting point of a new product for the creator’s specific audience, and no two content creators will adapt content in the same way.
